People with few strong scents, body heat, and sweat are more prone to mosquito bites. And it is irritating having a mosquito buzzing around your ear around. Moreover, their bites are so itchy, bumpy skin, and problematic.
Except for all these frustrating but little problems, mosquitoes carry hazardous diseases like malaria, chikungunya, zika virus, etc. To control these devils, we generally go for deet or chemical-based spray. But have you ever thought about the side effects they can possess on your and your family's health?
Check out their ingredients if you use one of those sprays or repellents. You will know how beneficial and harmful they are. But anyhow, we have to get rid of the mosquito too as we definitely can't live with too. So what is the solution?
It will be surprising to know that the solution is already present nearby. But the thing is, you need to learn about its worth. First, I am talking about what nature gives us: neem, catnip, and rosemary. They are natural mosquito repellent.
Along with them, lemon is a great substance to bay off the mosquito from your house. Here we will discuss those natural mosquito repellents that will keep us safe from mosquitoes without side effects.
Mosquito repellent
Pai organics mosquito repellent is an excellent remedy and effectively works against the mosquito. It is made with lemon and other essential oil. Lemon is an excellent repellent for mosquitoes; mosquitoes hate its citrus smell. In addition, it is a safe and deet-free product and entirely safe to use around kids.
Essential at rescue
We know essential oil has a wide range of uses. Pest control is one of them, where essential oil does an extraordinary job. For example, lemon eucalyptus essential oil is perfect for controlling and terminating mosquitoes.
To create an essential oil spray:
- Dilute 1 part of the oil with ten amounts of water.
- Shake the solution well and fill up the spray bottle with it.
- Spray the solution in every corner of your house, under the cabinets or sink, behind the curtains, or wherever you suspect mosquito presence.
Keep mosquitoes at bay using the plant as an alternative.
As I stated earlier, the plant can be an utterly non-toxic way to keep mosquitoes at bay. Of all those plants, catnip is my favorite. Catnip is a plant of the mint family and expends like weed or commercial plant. It is best to use in our garden but not very useful for home purposes.
Marigold is a good and beautiful choice to deal with the mosquito problem in the house. It is easy to care for the plant, and it can grow every season. In addition, Marigold deters smell is not pleasing for mosquitoes, who stay away. Put the marigold plant pots near your door to stop the mosquito from entering your home.
Lavender is another excellent mosquito deters plant for the garden. Essential oil smell from beautiful lavender blooms hinders the mosquito's unique capacity for the scent. It is also a tricky plant to endure all climates.
