How can we use organic farming in today's generation?

Technology is growing big now. And one of the technologies that are getting known on a big scale is the agriculture industry. Science fiction has become the reality. Once again organic farming is significantly becoming prominent.
But the change is this time technology is paving the way to organic farming. We are aware of the fact that technology comes at a price. With the popularity lot of question also takes place. One of them is “Is it safe to use organic farming?”
A lot of people still hesitate on the use of organic farming. But switching to organic farming is just a little makeup for the damage we have made to the environment. By using chemical fertilize we have already made lots of destruction to soil and eventually the environment.

What is Organic Farming

Organic farming is an agriculture system that uses biological fertilizer, and pest control made ecologically. Biological fertilizers are acquired from plants and animal waste. Organic farming is a response against the damage that synthesized fertilizers and pesticides made.
Organic farming is successful in reducing soil erosion and also decreases the nitrate reaching the soil. Organic farming also made the way to recycle the waste generated by an animal.
But as I have discussed everything comes at some cost. Organic farming benefits come with an increase in food charges. This is also one of the reasons that farmers still scoff at the idea of organic farming.

Method of organic farming

To keep the organic farming method in use two most important methods are used fertilizing and use of organic pest control.

Fertilizer

As synthetic fertilizer cannot be used when organic farming is being used. Keeping the soil richness is the most prominent deed for farmers. To do that organic matter is used as manure and compost.
Compost with organic matter provides nutrition to plants and adds goods microbes to the soil. Soil microbes are needed to break down in organic matter.

Pest control

Pesticides that are made from plants and natural sources are used to protect the field and plants. This includes neem oil, living organism like bacteria bacillus thuringiensis, and plant derivatives such as pyrethrins.
Living organisms are used to control caterpillar pests. The use of sulfur and copper is also allowed but in little quantity.
In organic pest control cultural, biological, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management) methods are also used to control the pest.

Impact on environment

Certain consequences that are being observed by the use of chemical fertilizer are decreasing the soil quality. Chemical fertilizer boosts up the soil nutrients but the soil doesn’t store it and ends up using it all.
Weaken soil also leads to water runoff that may result in algae.
However organic fertilizers are made up of organic matter that increases soil fertility and richness. This results in the gloom of healthy and good quality crops.

Organic farming the future

Organic farming is based on long-term sustainability. What we do today is the result of the future of the earth. Organic matter allows boosting the soil's nutrition and in addition to that, it also allows the soil to regain its lost nutrients.
We can’t specifically say that organic farming is the future of agriculture. But it can defiantly lead to the betterment of future earth, environment and eventually health.
